An externally threaded fastener with a dome-shaped head with a square recess. Items of nominal length of 2 inches or less are fully threaded. For longer sizes, the shank has an unthreaded section directly below the head. Screws have a coarse thread pitch and a chip cavity cut out where the final several threads, ending at the tip. Applications / Advantages: Designed for use in softer woods such as particle board, for attaching a frame to the front of a cabinet structure to cover the edges of the cabinet. These are also referred to as pocket hole screws due to the type of hole into which the fastener is inserted. Such holes are drilled at an angle of approximately 15° into one workpiece and joined to the other piece by the screw. Such fastening methods don™t require access to the inside of the joint to make repairs or adjustments.
