SPECIFICATIONS
An externally threaded fastener with a rectangular-shaped head with a square recess. The shank has an unthreaded section directly below the head. Screws have a coarse thread pitch and a chip cavity cut out where the final several threads, ending with a piercing point. The long Type-17 point is 30% to 45% longer than the standard Type-17 point. Applications / Advantages: Designed for use in softer woods such as particle board, for attaching a frame to the front of a cabinet structure to cover the edges of the cabinet. These are also referred to as pocket hole screws due to the type of hole into which the fastener is inserted. Such holes are drilled at an angle of approximately 15° into one workpiece and joined to the other piece by the screw. Such fastening methods don™t require access to the inside of the joint to make repairs or adjustments. The long Type-17 point reduces the torque needed to install the fastener.
